Names of sourah An-Naba :

Amma/Al-Tasao’l/Al-Moaassrat

Makkiah or Madaniah ? :

Sourah An-Nabaa is Makkiah. Descended in Makkah after the journey & Ascension  (Al-isra’ wal-Mi’raj) of Prophet Muhammad (saw).

Purpose of the descending of sourah An-Nabaa :

The reason for its descent is to prove, by the arguments and evidence, the resurrection and reckoning of judgment day.

The science’s miracle of some verses :

Have We not smoothed out the earth ˹like a bed˺,

Surah An-Nabaa:6

After the evolution of modern science and development of geology (Earth science), human beings have reached new levels of acknowledgement about different manifestations of nature with all its terrains.

Scientists have developed many geologic scientific theories about the shape and extent of mountains on Earth.it is worth mentioning that the geographers have confirmed that the mountains are similar in their form to the shape of a wedge, as they extend deep into the earth and show only a part of them.

The mountains also are similar to an anchor, since it submitted in the earth until it reaches the lava area which is in the interior of the earth, this is what scholars discovered in 18th century, i.e. after the Quran came down on Prophet Muhammad (saw) in many centuries.

The Holy Qur’an described this scientific theory as a simple statement and in one word which reflects the divine wisdom in the creation and proves that the Quran is created by Allah (SWT) and refutes the doubters by the book of Allah (SWT).

and ˹made˺ the mountains as ˹its˺ pegs,1

5-Explanation (Tafseer تفسير)

What are they asking one another about?

verse : 1

About the momentous news,

verse: 2

over which they disagree.1

verse: 3

But no! They will come to know.

verse: 4

Again, no! They will come to know.

verse: 5

Have We not smoothed out the earth ˹like a bed˺,

verse: 6

and ˹made˺ the mountains as ˹its˺ pegs,1

verse: 7

and created you in pairs,

verse: 8

and made your sleep for rest,

verse: 9

and made the night as a cover,

verse: 10

and made the day for livelihood,

verse: 11

and built above you seven mighty ˹heavens˺,

verse: 12

and placed ˹in them˺ a shining lamp,

verse: 13

and sent down from rainclouds pouring water,

verse: 14

producing by it grain and ˹various˺ plants,

verse: 15

and dense orchards?

verse: 16

Indeed, the Day of ˹Final˺ Decision is an appointed time—

verse: 17

˹it is˺ the Day the Trumpet will be blown, and you will ˹all˺ come forth in crowds.

verse: 18

The sky will be ˹split˺ open, becoming ˹many˺ gates,

verse: 19

and the mountains will be blown away, becoming ˹like˺ a mirage.

verse: 20

Indeed, Hell is lying in ambush

verse: 21

as a home for the transgressors,

verse: 22

where they will remain for ˹endless˺ ages.

verse: 23

There they will not taste any coolness or drink,

verse: 24

except boiling water and ˹oozing˺ pus—

verse: 25

a fitting reward.

verse: 26

For they never expected any reckoning,

verse: 27

and totally rejected Our signs.

verse: 28

And We have everything recorded precisely.

verse: 29

˹So the deniers will be told,˺ “Taste ˹the punishment˺, for all you will get from Us is more torment.”

verse: 30

Indeed, the righteous will have salvation—

verse: 31

Gardens, vineyards,

verse: 32

and full-bosomed maidens of equal age,

verse: 33

and full cups ˹of pure wine˺,

verse: 34

never to hear any idle talk or lying therein—

verse: 35

a ˹fitting˺ reward as a generous gift from your Lord,

verse: 36

the Lord of the heavens and the earth and everything in between, the Most Compassionate. No one will dare speak to Him

verse: 37

on the Day the ˹holy˺ spirit1 and the angels will stand in ranks. None will talk, except those granted permission by the Most Compassionate and whose words are true.

verse: 38

That Day is the ˹ultimate˺ truth. So let whoever wills take the path leading back to their Lord.

verse: 39

Indeed, We have warned you of an imminent punishment—the Day every person will see ˹the consequences of˺ what their hands have done, and the disbelievers will cry, “I wish I were dust.”1

verse: 40

6-The utility of the verses :

1- God’s judgments of creation are an indication of his ability and re-creation after death.

2-The tyranny leads to hell

3-multiplying the punishment on disbelievers

4-The faith leads to heaven

5-remembering the horrors of the Resurrection is a motive for good action
